Jon-Claire holds 25 year reunion with Ming-Na Wen, star of Marvel’s Agents of Shield

Ming-Na Wen was in Sydney this last weekend as special guest of the Supernova Convention.   In 1980s, Jon-Claire was completing his Masters of Fine Arts Degree (Film Directing) at New York University and Ming-Na was a young actress in the big apple.  As fate would have it, Jon-Claire directed her in her first film role in “An American Affair,” an hour long narrative film about an Asian wife who arrives in America only to discover that her husband, who is studying in New York, is having an affair.   This 1989 film went on to win Jon-Claire a New York University Alumni Award and received its world premiere at the Powerhouse Museum, Sydney in the mid 1990s.  Last night was the first real opportunity Jon-Claire and Ming Na have had to get together for a reunion after so many years.  Jon-Claire and Jeamin Lee  invited Ming-Na and her husband Eric Zee to an intimate dinner with family and friends.  It was a wonderful opportunity to talk about those good old days and about the future in the entertainment industry and also about the children in both families growing up so quickly.  After returning to the USA, Ming-Na will have a short break before going on to shoot the next season of  Marvel’s Agents of Shield.  Can’t wait!!!
