STC’s Jo Raj and Gabe Alavardo gave deeply emotional performances tonight in “Postcards from Hell,” an evening of real stories written by asylum seekers kept in various Australian detention centres over the last few years. The monologues were touching, depressing and very disturbing. Produced by Judith Shepherd-Pemel and presented at the Stanley Street Gallery, Darlinghurst, this performance was unrelenting in its portrayal of the hopeless, frightened and uncertain lives of these travellers to our land. A story seldom told, but most important for all Australians to know. Congratulations to the ensemble cast and crew!
