STC’s Indra Suardana was selected to be part of the Diamond Ensemble, which performed on Opening Night (11/9/14) of Opera Australia’s extravagant production of Rogers and Hammerstein’s classic musical The King and I at the Sydney Opera House. Indra auditioned earlier in the year, then through weeks of rehearsal and is now excitingly waiting for the commencement of the season 11 Sept to 1 Nov 2014. The children actors chosen for this production were divided into different ensembles so they can alternately act in various performances during each week. Indra was so proud and overjoyed to be performing on opening night along with the stars Lisa McClune and Teddy Tahu Rhodes. The overwhelming demand for tickets has led to the scheduling of 9 performances a week. This will be an event everyone will remember for a long time to come.
